Our story – from a confectionery to the world of sweet promotion
For over 40 years, Kalfany Süße Werbung has been developing, producing, and distributing customized confectionery as promotional items. What began as a small confectionery shop in the Black Forest has developed into a leading company in the promotional items market.
What if every sweet had a message? This simple but ingenious idea was the beginning of Kalfany Süße Werbung.
It all started in 1975 in a small confectionery shop:
Pieter Schubert created his first customized confectionery products – such as drills and roof tiles made of marzipan and chocolate – as original promotional gifts for companies. This led to the founding of the company “Süße Werbung” in 1981, which soon outgrew its niche market.

- 1975: In Pieter Schubert's small confectionery shop in Emmendingen, individually shaped confectionery products – including drill bits and roof tiles made of marzipan and chocolate – are created for the first time as original promotional items for companies.
- 1981: Founding of Süße Werbung, which quickly develops from a small artisan business into a successful supplier in the promotional products sector.
- 1998: Move to Herbolzheim and start of own fruit gum production. Establishment of one of the most flexible production facilities in the promotional products sector.
- 2007: Süße Werbung merged with Kalfany to form Kalfany Süße Werbung GmbH & Co. KG and became part of the ZERTUS group of companies. Since then, we have continued to develop – with our own printing facilities, packaging solutions, and creative ideas for sweet communication.
- 2024: Joined “The Hapticologist” – a collective of experts in tactile brand experiences that focuses on multisensory marketing – including a highly acclaimed appearance at OMR.
- Since 2025: Our in-house chocolate brand, Choco Company, has been added to our portfolio. Freshly poured, exclusively refined, and ideal for tactile advertising with a taste factor.
- Today: Production of over 2,000 tons of fruit gums per year.
